An update from our founder and Chair, Steve Crump,
regarding the ongoing pandemic.
We are carefully monitoring and responding to the development of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Our primary concern is for the protection of the D/deaf children and families we work with, as well as our staff and supporters.
We are following government guidelines in each of the countries where we operate, isolating where necessary to protect vulnerable groups of people - which includes postponing or cancelling gatherings, working remotely where appropriate, and ensuring we mitigate risks to health as far as we are able.
I am meeting regularly with our team to review the guidance given by the World Health Organisation (WHO), and the measures being implemented by different governments and in turn assessing different scenarios. We are also working closely with our partners to ensure D/deaf children in most need are supported during this unprecedented global emergency.
Our commitment to supporting D/deaf children at risk of abuse and exploitation remains resolute. We will do all in our power to ensure this hard to reach constituency are protected, as required and appropriate at this difficult time.
