We are DeafKidz International

Authentic and proven, DeafKidz International is the UK’s leading organisation working to respond to the protection, health and wellbeing needs of Deaf, hard of hearing, deafened and DeafBlind (D/Deaf) children and young people in low resource and complex humanitarian settings. We work to ensure that D/deaf children and young people are able to live safely and without fear of stigma, discrimination and abuse in the communication mode of choice; sign language, sign supported spoken language, community ethnic sign, aural method and DeafBlind manual.

Our global vision is that every D/deaf child lives in a safe, caring and supportive environment, free from poverty, violence and exploitation.

Our Mission: We work in hard-to-reach places and on the issues people don’t want to face or talk about – physical, sexual, emotional abuse and neglect. We’re not afraid to do the difficult and we get things done. As the go to partner of choice for the global health, humanitarian and development community, we partner with international, nation state and civil society agencies to share expertise, develop innovative new approaches and build local capacities to ensure that the rights of D/deaf children and young people to protection, health and well-being are realised.
