We advance the protection and wellbeing of deaf children worldwide. We are deaf-founded, with staff spread across South Africa, Zambia and the UK.
For over a decade, DeafKidz International has led the way in reducing the abuse and neglect of deaf children worldwide. We work with communities, local partners, children and their families to respond to deaf children’s protection and wellbeing needs.
We use play-based and EdTech approaches to ensure deaf children can live safely, without fear of abuse or exploitation.
The need for our work
There are 32 million deaf children worldwide, many of whom face stigma, social exclusion, and a severe lack of support. This not only impacts their opportunities but leaves them more open to abuse: globally deaf children are 3 times more likely to suffer abuse than hearing children.

DeafKidz Defenders
A play-based EdTech programme educating deaf children on how to stay safe in-person and online. Supported by activities that nurture a whole-community approach to safeguarding.
DeafKidz Goal!
A sport-based project that fosters inclusivity and dismantles barriers for deaf youth. A holistic approach which also empowers deaf adults as sports coaches and mentors.
