His wealth of knowledge will be instrumental in strengthening the organisation’s fundraising strategy.

Claudette Malone brings a deeply personal perspective to her role, being a dedicated mother to two profoundly deaf children. With decades of experience in healthcare and a focus on global public health and patient advocacy, Claudette has established herself as a leading voice in diversity, equity, and inclusion. Her career as a multiple award-winning Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Manager at a multinational innovation platform has equipped her with the skills to drive progress and improve accessibility, making her an invaluable asset to the board. As a certified empowerment coach and NLP practitioner, her commitment to social justice underpins her life’s mission to advance equity and create meaningful change.

Founder and Chair of DeafKidz International, Steve Crump OBE, also commented on the appointments:
I’m delighted to be welcoming three new Trustees – Claudette Malone, John Price and Jane Holden – to the board of DeafKidz International. All of whom bring a wealth of business development and fundraising expertise to DeafKidz, along with lived experience of deafness and young people. This is at a time when we’re readying to start work in Cambodia and Malawi whilst continuing to develop our child protection programming in Zambia and South Africa. Suffice to say, I look forward to working with our new Trustees as we look to ensure no deaf child is left behind. – Steve Crump, Chair and Founder of DeafKidz International
The addition of the new trustees marks a significant new chapter for DeafKidz International, as the charity continues to expand its reach and impact. Their combined experience and passion for the cause will undoubtedly strengthen efforts to ensure that deaf children worldwide are safe, empowered, and able to thrive.
