Many deaf children grow up without access to information about their rights, their bodies, or how to recognise unsafe situations. And when abuse occurs, communication barriers make it even harder for them to seek help, report harm, or begin to heal.

Around 32 million deaf children worldwide experience daily barriers to safety, education, and inclusion. Research shows they are three times more likely to experience abuse than hearing children. This is not inevitable — it is preventable.

Protection grows when whole communities understand deaf children’s needs. £100 trains 30 adults: teachers, caregivers, and community workers to recognise risks and build safer environments for deaf children. This strengthens safeguarding across an entire district.

Schools should be safe places. But without trained teachers, deaf children can fall through the cracks.
A £250 gift trains 10 teachers in deaf-inclusive safeguarding, creating safer classrooms and safer futures for years to come.
