Legends Take to the Field for an Unforgettable Charity Match

The highly anticipated charity football match took place at Havant & Waterlooville FC, drawing an impressive crowd of 983 supporters. On a crisp yet sunny November day, fans eagerly poured through the gates to witness football legends in action.

Manchester Legends vs Non-League Stars

The Manchester Legends squad featured a stellar lineup, including Nick Culkin, Russell Beardsmore, Ben Thornley, Danny Pugh, Chris Casper, Keith Gillespie, Danny Webber, Lee Trundle, Micky Gray, Luke Chadwick, Phil Marsh, Chris Eagles, and Clayton Blackmore. Adding to the excitement, guest players Matt Le Tissier, Luke Kerr, and John Keary joined the team.

Facing them was a formidable opposition of non-league players from Sussex and the surrounding areas: Bradley Miles, Martin Buglione, Ash Rochester, Jan Miller, Lee Bradshaw, Mark Ormerod, Jodey Rowland, Paul Jones, Paul Cooper, Darren Pearce, Dave Smith, Ryan Gayler, Stacey Dawes, Steve Edkin, Steve Ward, Stuart Tuck, Matt Smart, Warren Bayliss, Dan Beck, John Westcott, John Price, and Demis Ohandjanian. A highlight of the squad was England’s deaf football captain, Jamie Clarke, with the legendary Tony Mount managing the team.

A Match to Remember

The action kicked off with an electric atmosphere, and the crowd was treated to a thrilling game. During half-time, young mascots took to the pitch for a penalty shootout, adding to the day’s excitement. As the match progressed, the Manchester Legends showcased their skill, securing a 4-1 victory over the Non-League Legends.

Exclusive Q&A and Auction Success

After the final whistle, VIP guests and players gathered for a special Q&A session, offering insights into the golden days of Manchester football. The evening continued with a charity auction, featuring exclusive memorabilia such as a signed Mason Mount shirt and a Manchester City football from last season’s title-winning squad. The auction alone raised an incredible £1,000.
