DeafKidz International is thrilled to welcome Jamie Clarke and Caroline Palmer as our newest global ambassadors. Their remarkable achievements and unwavering dedication to the Deaf community will amplify our mission worldwide.
Jamie Clarke – Captain & Trailblazer in Deaf Football
Jamie Clarke is a legendary figure in deaf football. He captains both England and Great Britain’s deaf teams and debuted on the international stage in 2008. Since then, he’s become a prolific striker, winning the Golden Boot at the 2011 European Championships, earning top scorer honours in three Deaflympics Champions League campaigns, and being named to the 2017 Turkey Deaflympics All-Star team.
At 32, Jamie remains at the pinnacle of his game. He even took on the challenge of Channel 4’s SAS: Who Dares Wins, aiming to raise awareness of deaf athletes facing everyday barriers, and proved that deafness does not hold anyone back.
Jamie’s message is bold: “Ignore the doubt, believe in yourself—and you can do it.” As our ambassador, he will inspire deaf children to pursue sports, self-confidence, and community inclusion.
Caroline Palmer – Community Champion & Co-Founder, Talking Hands Cafe
Caroline Palmer co-founded the renowned Talking Hands Cafe & Studio in Hassocks, Sussex in 2017. The cafe is an inclusive space where deaf and hearing people come together over ethically sourced coffee, BSL courses, workshops, and events.
With a background as a Specialist Family Support Worker for deaf children in Brighton & Hove, Caroline brings deep expertise in family and community engagement.
As our ambassador, she will help build bridges across communities, raise awareness about deaf culture, and support creative, supportive environments for deaf children globally.
Caroline will also be joining us at our upcoming Sign & Wine fundraising evening on 19th September 2025, where she’ll be leading an engaging British Sign Language session alongside a curated wine tasting experience. Tickets are available now—don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn, connect, and support our work. Jamie will be involved in an exciting football-focused event in March 2026, with full details and special guests to be announced soon. Stay tuned!
